Lucayan’s SkillBridge Program
SkillBridge Info
Lucayan Technology is a DoD-approved SkillBridge partner! The Lucayan Institute’s SkillBridge Program offers participants who are at least 180 days out from separation from service the opportunity to gain the training and knowledge required to secure employment within the civilian workforce.
What is SkillBridge?
SkillBridge partners with private industries to help Veterans find jobs , but also helps Companies find the workforce needed for industry. This platform is for service members to gain civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences. Below, are a few other highlights of what the SkillBridge program offers:
-
Service members participating in SkillBridge continue to receive military compensation and benefits, while industry partners provide training and work experience.
-
SkillBridge is an excellent benefit for installation and Unit Commanders who have members nearing military separation.
-
This platform can help Service members bridge the gap between the end of service and the beginning of civilian careers. Commanders can greatly ease this transition to civilian life by supporting reports’ interest in SkillBridge.
-
Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after the unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. Industry partners offer real-world training and work experience in on-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work.
